I am Ashleigh Fish, A watercolour artist and surface pattern designer living in New Zealand. I started painting when my eldest was born in 2017 and my hobby has gradually turned into a business! Once I discovered pattern making I was hooked and I haven’t looked back.
How long have you been creating your art?
I always created art as a child but stopped in high school until I was on maternity leave.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
I draw inspiration from nature and also from my children, Kids have such a unique perspective on the world and I love to include all the tiny details that they notice which we may overlook.
What’s the most exciting thing you’ve seen your art on?
The most exciting thing I’ve seen my art on has to be kids clothing. I love seeing kids wearing my patterns, it makes my heart feel so full. What is your favourite art style at the moment?
My favourite art style is loose watercolour florals, they are so relaxing to paint
And finally, where can we find you?
You can find me at home with a coffee in one hand, paintbrush in the other, when I’m not working I love hanging out with my young family exploring outside.
