Tell us a bit about yourself
My name is Agata, I’m the artist behind Blissful Flamingo. I live in a beautiful and green part of Warsaw, Poland, with my 2 sons, husband and our cat Lola.
How long have you been creating your art?
Since I could hold a crayon! However, I didn’t pursue my art career until a few years ago. After almost a decade in the corporate world I decided to return to what truly makes me happy - creating. I believe very strongly in following one’s bliss even if it takes quite a while to realise what it is.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
My life :) The area I live in, the birds and squirrels I see, books, movies, cartoons I watch with my sons, memories from my childhood. Sometimes I pause a movie just to take a screenshot of a cool color combination. Also, my husband is a photographer and he often sends me images or photos he thinks would inspire me.
What's the most exciting thing you've seen your art on?
Washi tape, reusable bottles and fabric! I love to see how talented makers use fabric with my designs to create their beautiful, unique pieces.
What is your favourite art style at the moment?
I’ve always been drawn to bold colors and flat, graphic style. However, lately I’ve been enjoying painting with watercolors a lot and I’m currently finishing my second watercolor collection!
