Cloth Cuts PUL (polyurethane laminate) fabric is one of the key fabric bases that I use in my business and sewing ventures. This fabric base is one of the key reasons I first started purchasing from Cloth Cuts a few years ago. PUL in general can range quite considerably across different suppliers. Cloth Cuts PUL is a sturdier fabric and not as thin or silky as some suppliers. It is white-backed (not clear) which helps to give it its body. Due to it’s more sturdier nature I find it is easier to sew with and I can easily sew with the PUL without the need for a walking foot. Cloth Cuts PUL has been tested to a washing temperature of a maximum of 60 degrees celsius which is a great bonus if it is being used for Modern Cloth Nappies. It is recommended to line dry or dry in the shade too to protect the water-resistant backing.
PUL is a perfect base for a range of sewing projects. From bibs to smocks, nappies, wet bags, bowl covers, lunch bags and change mats, it really covers a lot of sewing needs.
As a custom base, PUL is available and adaptable to any design tile you choose also, offering a vibrant take on any continuous design you find. If you have contemplated trying the Cloth Cuts PUL I definitely recommend it. To make things even better, Cloth Cuts offer PUL in half-metre cuts (x width of fabric (WOF), which is 1.5 metres), so if you would like to try a smaller cut of a variety of prints you can. So many options and choices await.
