Tell us a bit about yourself
I am a busy Mum, so when I am not at work or looking after the family, I love to focus on my creations in my free time, mostly in the evening. I enjoy spending time away, visiting new places, being with friends and having a coffee!
How long have you been creating your art?
I have been drawing since I was very little. I would have followed my passion after school, but my mum steered me away thinking I couldn’t make a living from being an artist, hence why I went into childcare. I had a period of time when I wasn’t doing anything creative. When my second child was two years old I started painting, after attending a few markets, it snowballed from there and I set up my small business. I have been creating repeat patterns for just over a year.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
A lot of inspiration comes from what I see and do. I like to create things with children in mind and enjoy using colour.
What's the most exciting thing you've seen your art on?
I have had customer upholster her dining room chairs with on of my Pukeko designs.
What is your favourite art style at the moment?
At the moment I am using the iPad a lot to draw my designs. I love solid lines and block of colours.
When you're not creating, what do you get up to?
Family time, walks, hanging with friends and occasional shopping.
