Tell us a bit about yourself
Hello, my name is Zohra, which translates to "flower" in Arabic, and it perfectly reflects my love for painting flowers and natural landscapes. I am a full-time fine artist and surface designer with two years of experience, residing in the Kabyle region of Algeria, a place known for its abundant natural beauty.
I am based in the beautiful Kabyle region of Algeria, surrounded by nature, which serves as a constant inspiration for my work. Throughout my creative journey, I have had diverse experiences that have shaped me into the artist I am today. I have dabbled in fashion illustration, creating designs for bags and traditional garments. I have also delved into the realm of commercial photography, capturing moments through my lens, and have even shared my artistic skills as an art teacher for kids. These varied experiences have been instrumental in developing my expertise in the world of textile design. Drawing inspiration from my surroundings and my love for flowers, my artwork is a fusion of natural elements and artistic expression. I strive to create unique and captivating designs that evoke emotion and convey a sense of beauty.
How long have you been creating your art?
I discovered my passion for art at a young age, starting from the age of 12, and I have cherished my sketchbook ever since. However, life took me on a different path, and I temporarily put my artistic pursuits on hold. In 2017, I rekindled my love for art and decided to fully dedicate myself to my creative journey
Where do you draw inspiration from?
The beauty of nature captivates me, and I often find myself inspired by the intricate details, vibrant colors, and unique forms that can be found in the world around me.
What's the most exciting thing you've seen your art on?
One of the most exciting things I've seen my art on is a painting canvas. I love creating galaxy paintings, where I can use bold colors, intricate brushwork, and imaginative compositions to depict the vastness and beauty of the cosmos.
What is your favourite art style at the moment?
Currently, my favorite art style is intuitive abstract painting, which allows me to freely express my emotions, thoughts, and ideas on the canvas without any predetermined plan or structure. I'm also into mixed media art creations. I enjoy the process of selecting and arranging various elements, such as paper, fabric, found objects, and images, to create a cohesive and visually engaging artwork that tells a story or conveys a concept
When you're not creating, what do you get up to?
when I'm not creating art, you'll likely find me immersing myself in nature, engaging in ecological activities, or enjoying some leisurely shopping to unwind and recharge my creative energy
