My name is Rebekah McDonald and I’m a secondary school Visual Arts teacher and artist based in the Limestone Coast of South Australia. I’ve been creative my whole life, drawing and painting in my spare time from a very early age. While art has always been a hobby of mine, my passion for drawing and painting has grown over the years. Around a year ago, I launched my own art business, selling prints and originals of my work online. It was around 10 months ago that I discovered surface pattern design and began experimenting with repeat patterns. I very quickly came to love this method of creating, making my artwork into designs that could be used for textiles, products and more. My work is inspired by the many things I see around me, but often features animals and botanical elements. My main media of choice for pattern design are watercolours and digital drawing.
